After all that rushing around for weeks on end frantically trying to get all of your Christmas shopping done in time, followed by a few too many late nights and, perhaps, a little too much to drink you may feel like you need a visit to a health farm just to get over the Christmas break! Here we take a look at how to rejuvenate your skin in next to no time ready for the next wave of celebrations….

• DETOX WHILE YOU DRINK

Next time you’re out on a big night out make sure you have a glass of water between every alcoholic drink. This will prevent toxic build up and minimize headaches the following day with an alcohol-free spritz toner; it’ll give your skin an early morning wake up call.

• MASK-TASK

Don’t hide away under the duvet; instead cover your face with a home-made face mask. Simply mix two heaped teaspoons of gram flour, two teaspoons of water and a half teaspoon of honey. Apply with your fingertips and leave on for approximately 10-15 minutes, then soften with water before washing off completely.

• COOL AS A CUCUMBER

Puffy eyes are a telltale sign of far too many late nights. Use a compress for your eyes, such as tea bags, chilled cucumber slices or wrung out wet cotton wool balls. These will shrink blood vessels and decrease the swelling.

• SOAK IN THE TUB

If you can’t afford to get a professional massage, worry not. Simply relax in a warm (not hot) bath infused with essential oils, such as lavender, for 20 minutes.
This will boost lymphatic drainage and circulation and can also give you a boost when feeling sluggish.

• LIGHTEN UP

Add radiance with a skin balm or a cream that brightens tired and jaded skin. At least you won’t look tired even if you’re feeling it!
